Since the beginning of time humanity has been impressed by having the biggest and best things out there and throughout our journey. Here we've discussed and learned about many great cultures and countries that have impressive aspects and although we still have a lot to learn and a long way to go there is one country that we have yet to look at Russia.

It is a stainless steel statue that is 80 feet high and although it is now located in Moscow it was first introduced at the World's Fair in 1937 and the statue alone was a significant visual of the war against Nazism during the Second World War as the statue was placed opposite of the German Nazi flag to show their rivalry now to talk about accomplishments with in this country.

We cannot forget about the Russian space program but what makes the space program groundbreaking is. It was the first program to send a man into space and to even orbit the Earth that cosmonaut was Yuri Gagarin and he launched from Earth in his Vostok space capsule on April 12/1961 and because of that crowning achievement the Russian space program has become one of the most influential space programs in the world collaborating with scientists all over the globe.

I think we all know how this flag is looking it's a tri-color of three horizontal equal fields red on the bottom blue in the middle and white on top many centuries ago this flag was used for the first time at the end of the 17th century probably 1693 there are two stories about the Russian flag both linked to the Dutch the earliest mention of the flag occurs during the reign of Alexis the first in 1668 and it's related to the construction of the first Russian naval ship.

 

The engineer was a Dutch and faced a need for a flag to put on the ship and he asked the terrible Rhys even to the land forces used different flags that Tsar led a problem in the hands of the Dutch engineer which used the custom existing in his country a different story traces the regions of the Russian flag to that Tsar Peter the Great which reformed Russia to be more European so he had an interesting building ship in a Western European way and 1693 Peter had ordered a Dutch built ship from Amsterdam in 1694 when it arrived the Dutch red white and blue banner flew from its turn Peter decided to model Russian naval flag after this banner just by changing the sequence of colors.

 

The Russian flag was adopted as a merchant flag at rivers in 1705 the colors represent an order of priority white for God blue for King and red for people and country on 7th of May 1883 the Russian flag was authorized to be used on land and became an official national flag before the coronation of term it was the second in 1896 the flag was changed after the Bolshevik Revolution and reappeared the Russian soil after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 and changed again in 1993 as it was before the Revolution changing the blue color today is believed that the white color symbolized nobility the blue color symbolized honesty and faithfulness and the red is for courage generosity and love.
